Quote of the Day: Justice Anthony Whealy

Whealy unhinged

Whealy unhinged

Just like the Titanic was almost a success, right up to the bit where it hit an iceberg and sank, so it is with rehabilitation of terrorists into the community. It’s a brilliant idea, as long as you ignore all those who go on to join Islamic State.

The judge who jailed many of those involved in Australia’s most ambitious terrorist plot believes some could be rehabilitated into the community, including one due for release as early as next year.

Others among the 18 men arrested in the 2005 Operation Pendennis raids in Sydney and Melbourne would most likely never be deradicalised, said Anthony Whealy QC.

Of the nine whom he sentenced to jail in 2009 for plotting an attack in Sydney, two have been released to date.

One of these, Mirsad Mulahalilovic, is understood to be living quietly and has not since troubled the authorities. The other, Khaled Sharrouf, joined Islamic State in Syria.

And so therefore, ladies and gentlemen, without further ado, the Quote of the Day:

“He let us down badly,” Justice Whealy said. (source)

One out of two ain’t bad – it’s terrible. Are we as a nation prepared to take the risk?

Moronic leftoid whines about ‘racist hate speech’

What race is Islam again?

Never mind the threats to Australians from returning jihadis, or lone-wolf attacks on policemen in the course of duty, the real problem is ‘Islamophobia’, according to Michelle Rowland, Shadow Minister for Citizenship and Multiculturalism: [Read more…]

Useful Idiots #7: David Cameron

In denial

In denial

Is UK Prime Minister David Cameron wilfully mendacious, or just incredibly stupid? It has to be one or the other – there is no third alternative.

Speaking of Islamic State’s latest beheading, this time of a British citizen, Cameron said:

“They are killing and slaughtering thousands of people… they boast of their brutality… they claim to do this in the name of Islam, that is nonsense, Islam is a religion of peace. They are not Muslims, they are monsters”.

After the events of the last twenty years, even the most blinkered apologists must realise that Islam isn’t a religion of peace. It was, is now, and ever shall be, a violent, intolerant, medieval ideology of oppression and conquest.

But Cameron still spews the predictable RoP bullshit that we have come to expect from our gutless Western leaders. What will it take before the penny drops?

Heaven help the UK…

Useful Idiot #6: Malcolm Fraser

Going senile? Or just a moron?

Going senile? Or just a moron?

Who would believe that this twit was ever a Liberal prime-minister? His words gives succour to those who have no desire to integrate, and who, at some point in the future, may post a security threat to our nation.

Former Liberal prime minister Malcolm Fraser has labelled Tony Abbott’s use of the term Team Australia “divisive” and “counter-productive”.

Mr Abbott used the phrase when announcing plans for new anti-terrorism laws, raising concerns among community leaders.

The Islamic Council of Victoria (ICV), which represents more than 150,000 Muslims, boycotted Mr Abbott’s meeting with Muslim leaders in Melbourne after he told a radio station that “everyone has got to be on Team Australia“.

Mr Fraser said the Prime Minister’s choice of language was “terrible”.

“It resonates very, very badly with Australia’s ethnic communities,” he told AM.

Just how exactly? I guess you’d prefer ethnic communities not to be on Team Australia, putting their own ethnic interests above those of their country of residence and/or citizenship? You’re either with us, or against us, mate, and it looks like you’re against us.

Useful Idiots #5: Moral relativists

Listen to yourselves!

There are a huge number in this group, unfortunately, who believe that there is a moral equivalence between terrorists and democratic states: the majority of the mainstream media, the progressive Left (including, worryingly, Obama in the US), and some on the conservative side of politics – all helpful to the terrorist cause by legitimising their actions.

This post was prompted by a comment received earlier (not 100% sure it is genuine, but it serves the purpose of exposing the issues), which typifies this way of thinking:

The fearful responses in this blog are as scary as the Muslim extremists, and are extreme in their own way.

Really? Really? Expressing an opinion is somehow equivalent to beheadings and suicide bombings? I’m sure you are an intelligent person, but, seriously, WTF? And opposing extremism is itself extreme? Do you actually listen to yourself?

Muslim leaders complain of ‘unfair smearing’

It’s images like this that give Islam a bad name

The reality is that if anyone in this whole sorry saga is causing ‘unfair smearing’ to Muslims, it’s the extremists themselves who are using Islam to carry out atrocities in its name.

So why don’t the moderate Muslims protest against them instead? I’m waiting for an answer… Nah, you won’t get one.

There are much easier targets for the perpetually offended and professionally aggrieved, who have even set up a new website, Love for 100 Years, on which to display their victimhood. The statement has been supported by a number of Useful Idiots, including a Rabbi, who seems to have forgotten that Islam is the sworn enemy of the Jews for all eternity.

Useful Idiots #4: Barack Obama and John Kerry

Dumb and dumber (or is it the other way round?)

Dumb and dumber (or is it the other way round?)

I guess we shouldn’t be surprised by this – Obama has always favoured Muslims over Christians and other religious groups. He began his presidency by appeasing Islam in Cairo, has removed all mention of the ideology from counter-terror manuals and procedures, and continues to be apologist-in-Chief for Muslims:

So ISIL speaks for no religion. Their victims are overwhelmingly Muslim, and no faith teaches people to massacre innocents. No just god would stand for what they did yesterday and what they do every single day. ISIL has no ideology of any value to human beings.

Useful Idiots #3: Australian converts

"Eye catching"

Stephanie: “eye catching”

The task of da’wah, the proselytising and spreading of Islam to the kafirs, is made a great deal easier by a particular group of Useful Idiots – Western-born non-Muslims, particularly women, who voluntarily convert to Islam.

In Iraq, Islamic State is forcing Christians to convert – or die. In Africa, Boko Haram kidnaps schoolgirls for daring to seek an education. Both are driven by the intolerant, supremacist ideology that is Islam and sharia.

Useful Idiot #2: Craig Laundy

Step forward, Liberal MP for Reid, Craig Laundy, recipient of the second gong for Useful Idiot.

Laundy threatened to cross the floor on a vote on repeal of section 18C, after receiving thousands of protests from his electorate, which includes the Sydney suburb of Auburn (>40% Muslim population). [Read more…]

Useful Idiot #1: Andrew Leigh

The abandoning of our hard-won freedoms has been aided and abetted by “useful idiots”, primarily from the Left, but often from all sides of politics, who are in a state of perpetual denial about the issues that Australia and other Western democracies face.

Whether this is public denial combined with private acknowledgement, it’s difficult to tell. But whatever it is, it prevents us from addressing the issue properly (or even discussing it freely).

Stand up, Andrew Leigh, opposition assistant treasury spokesman and inaugural winner of the Useful Idiot gong, quoted in The Australian yesterday:
