The Religion of Peace™ strikes again.
Funny, isn’t it, that the most peaceful™ and feminist™
religion political ideology on earth keeps getting itself somehow mixed up with terrorist groups like Islamic State? Shurely shome mishtake? as Lord Gnome might say.
Police have charged a 42-year-old electrician and solar panel installer from the rural NSW town of Young for allegedly carrying out actions in Australia to support Islamic State activities overseas.
A joint AFP and NSW Police team raided Haisem Zahab’s family home this morning and arrested him.
Mr Zahab was taken to the Young police station and charged with two counts of preparations for incursions into foreign countries for purpose of engaging in hostile activities.
These offences carry a maximum penalty of life imprisonment.
Mr Zahab was also charged with failing to comply with an order as a person with knowledge of a computer system – which carries a maximum penalty of two years’ imprisonment.
Police allege Mr Zahab was performing services for the overseas activities of Islamic State by researching and designing a laser warning device to help warn against incoming laser-guided munitions used by forces in Syria and Iraq; and also by researching, designing and modelling systems to assist with Islamic State efforts to develop a long-range guided missile. Before the police released the disappointingly-Islamic sounding name of the person involved, the justice minister Michael Keenan made sure to emphasise to Ben Fordham on 2GB that he was ‘Australian-born’ – yeah, as if the local decent blokes in rural NSW would be aiding an Islamic enemy – and that none of this has nothing to do with the ‘Muslim community’.
Maybe they should start looking at the ‘Muslim community’ because no other community does quite as much to destroy the Australian way of life.
And with this, another brick of Aussie life is chipped away.
