It has been a while since I posted here on Aussie Madness, but the events of yesterday have prompted me to comment.
Before going on, I must make clear that the attack on two mosques in Christchurch must be condemned on all levels without reservation. It was a shocking act of violence for which there can never be any justification or excuse. Innocent victims mown down by an indiscriminate gunman whilst streaming the whole thing to the internet takes terrorism to a new level of horror.
Whilst we can never, repeat NEVER, excuse or justify such acts, we can, and should, at least attempt to explain. This is where we see our current crop of politicians in cowardly avoidance of the painful truth of the situation, instead relying on weasel words about gun control and platitudes about the attack being “not what New Zealand is about”.
Not one politician has had the courage to state the obvious, namely that this kind of attack is an inevitable response to the many, many atrocities carried out over centuries by a supremacist, violent ideology – Islam.
To put this into context, as of today, since 9/11 there have been nearly 35,000 terrorist attacks carried out in the name of Islam. There is simply no compromise with Islam – conversion, submission or death are the only options available.
Since the birth of the religion and political ideology of Islam in the 7th century, millions have perished at its hands. Churches all over the world have been attacked and worshippers killed, since Islam is explicitly at war with Christianity. Here is a list of attacks on Christians by Muslims just in the two and a half months since the start of the year (source):
Date | Country | City | Killed | Injured | Description |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
2019.03.11 | Nigeria | Anguwan Gamu | 46 | 0 | A pastor and his wife are among forty-six villagers massacred by Fulani terrorists. |
2019.03.10 | Nigeria | Shuwa | 0 | 1 | A girl is injured when two suicide bombers detonate prematurely during an attempt to kill church-goers. |
2019.02.26 | Nigeria | Maro | 32 | 0 | Thirty-two people are killed in a targeted attack on a Christian community. |
2019.02.15 | Burkina Faso | Cinkansé | 1 | 0 | A Catholic missionary is shot to death by Muslim radicals. |
2019.02.10 | Nigeria | Angwan Barde | 10 | 0 | An unborn child is among ten Catholics massacred by Muslim militants. |
2019.01.27 | Philippines | Jolo | 27 | 111 | Twenty-seven worshippers at a Catholic church are laid out by Muslim bombers. |
2019.01.26 | Germany | Salzgitter-Lebenstedt | 1 | 0 | The shooting by a Syrian Muslim of an Iraqi Christian is said to be motivated by religious differences. |
2019.01.20 | CAR | Zaoro Sangou | 13 | 0 | A pastor is among a dozen killed during Fulani violence. |
2019.01.05 | Egypt | Nasr City | 1 | 2 | A bomb left outside a church kills a police officer. |
In total, 131 Christians killed just since 1 January in the name of Islam, and the list goes on for pages and pages and pages and pages.
On our own soil, we can look at events like the rampage of Man Haron Monis in the Lindt Cafe, or the brutal cold-blooded murder of Curtis Cheng. If you look at the list of Australian terror attacks or plots, the overwhelming majority are of Islamic origin. The list would be extremely short without Islam to stack it. Other Western countries have suffered in similar ways, such as the US (9/11 and many others), the UK and France (Bataclan, Charlie Hebdo etc).
Given this, we really shouldn’t be surprised that some nut jobs will take matters into their own hands and carry out acts of retaliation. I repeat, there is never justification for retaliation of this kind, but it doesn’t take much for a disturbed individual to believe that the unremitting campaign of violence carried out by Islam over the past 1400 years justifies an attack in response. The individual’s thinking follows that if Islam is at war with the Dar al Harb, why aren’t we at war with Islam?
