Malcolm’s ultimate fantasy: preaching to a UN climate gab-fest

Mal's wet dream

Mal’s wet dream

To all those in the Coalition that thought deposing Tony Abbott was a good move, I hope you are enjoying this particular spectacle, because personally, I am trying not to hurl.

Just for the record, Tony wouldn’t be seen dead preaching at a UN climate conference, but our new dear leader, on the other hand, is positively in his element.

He probably can’t believe it himself: Chairman Mal, as Prime Minister of Australia, addressing a UN climate conference – yes, the ultimate fantasy comes true, while the rest of us are trying not to chuck up our breakfasts.

The final flourish is the obligatory mawkish and sentimental language that goes with it:

“We do not doubt the implications of the science, or the scale of the challenge,” Mr Turnbull said.

“But above all we do not doubt the capacity of humanity to meet it – with imagination, innovation and the prudence that befits those, like us, who make decision that will affect not just our own children and grandchildren but generations yet unborn.

Pass the sick bag… oops, too late.

*Oh, and by the way, global temperatures have remained virtually static for nearly twenty years, despite rapidly increasing CO2, but hey, who cares about ‘facts’?

  1. Simon Colwell says:

It’s time conservative Liberals broke away and formed a new conservative party with the Nationals. Or even better, joined the Nationals. Why should the only party that has any common sense limit itself to the bush ?

  2. Honeybadger says:

Nauseating stuff. Just watch if he wins the next election because the opposition is horrific. He will be off and running with OPM. We aint seen nothing yet!
