Snake oil and Kumbaya from Waleed Aly

Waleed Aly.

Snake oil salesman

The media and everyone else on the Left are in paroxysms of worship at Waleed Aly’s performance on The Project where he lectured the Australian infidels on how to deal with ISIS.

Whenever a Muslim speaks about Islamic terrorism, you have to be wary of snake oil mixed with a healthy dollop of taqiyya, and this time is certainly no exception. So here is Aly’s considered opinion on the Islamic State, which he calls ISIL to avoid mentioning the word ‘Islamic’.

Apparently they want to appear strong because really they’re weak:

“There is a reason ISIL still want to appear so powerful, why they don’t want to acknowledge that the land they control has been taken from weak enemies, that they are pinned down by air strikes or that just last weekend they lost a significant part of their territory.

ISIL don’t want you to know they would quickly be crushed if they ever faced a proper Army on a battlefield.

They want you to fear them. They want you to get angry.”

Not considered by Aly is the possibility they appear strong because they really are strong, and they are fully committed to their cause through the Islamic doctrines in the Qur’an.

So we mustn’t give them what they want, apparently:

“We are all feeling a million raging emotions right now. I am angry at these terrorists. I am sickened by the violence and I am crushed for the families that have been left behind, but, you know what, I will not be manipulated.

We all need to come together. I know how that sounds. I know it is a cliche, but it is also true because it is exactly what ISIL doesn’t want.

Seriously, we’re supposed to care about what ISIL does or doesn’t want? Did we instruct the Allies in WWII to worry about what the Nazis wanted, because if we offend them even more it will make it worse?

So, if you are a member of Parliament or a has-been member of Parliament preaching hate at a time when what we actually need is more love — you are helping ISIL. They have told us that. If you are a Muslim leader telling your community they have no place here or basically them saying the same thing — you are helping ISIL.

Translation: ‘preaching hate’ means any discussion of the tenets of Islam on which ISIL is based. So keep quite, infidel.

They have told us that. If you are just someone with a Facebook or Twitter account firing off misguided messages of hate [ditto – Ed], you are helping ISIL — They have told us that.

I am pretty sure that right now none of us wants to help these b*stards.”

Aly is a Muslim, and without you noticing, he’s telling us infidels to stop getting angry at ISIL. In other words, we should just bite our tongues and appear serene and calm while 130 people are killed in Paris, and miraculously ISIL will give up because we’re not reacting enough. WTF?

Like I have said many times in the past, ISIL’s hatred for the West has nothing to do with ‘racism’ or ‘Islamophobia’ or the wars in Afghanistan or Iraq, or even, as Aly claims, the making of reasonable demands of Muslims to work with the Australian security forces and to openly condemn terrorist atrocities (which they always fail to meet). It is based on 1,400 years of Islamic doctrine laid down by the Qur’an and the words and acts of Muhammad.

You can see how this sanctimonious claptrap appeals to the Left, where it’s all about ‘feelings’ and hashtags and candlelit vigils rather than actually dealing with the root cause of the problem. Nowhere in Aly’s lecture does he address the issue of how to deal with the fact that the Qur’an provides clear justification for Islamic State’s campaign of violence and terrorism against the West, and until that justification is removed, nothing will change.

  1. I don’t give a hoot what religion he follows but I enjoy his commentary on the whole because I have – generally – found his view to be balanced and articulate. Whilst there’s a part of me that wishes hatred would go away through peace and inaction, in reality I know this is pie-in-the-sky thinking. What I find disappointing about Aly’s spiel is that he doesn’t offer a solution. He just tells us to calm down. I don’t mind a bit of CBT to combat anger but I like to balance it with a way forward. Can’t people see we can’t just sit back and be all peace and love when there are drugged up emotionless psychos wielding machine guns and sporting suicide vests? What hope do we have?

    • Are you for real , you are not hearing the same as he has at times pointed to Israel, & Australians he is a cockroach & after one of his Islamic rants won’t watch the show not until he is off the air both on 10 & the ABC sympathizers of left greenies who say they are peaceful yet they belt a 70 year old lady i the mouth

  2. The fact that Aly is a Sunni Muslim should immediately ring alarm bells. In commenting publicly about a matter in which one has a vested interest, one should in fairness state one’s position. Aly conceals his position. And to lecture the law makers of the country? To quote a Biblical passage, “By what authority …?” Aly’s not too well concealed message to the world from ISIL and Sunni Islam in general seems to be “Stop the criticism and leave us alone and stop bombing us.” “We are all feeling…etc” I find patronising. And Aly’s sham sympathy I find mawkish. What are you, Waleed Aly actually doing about the anachronistic teaching, the reform ready dogma of your religion? I don’t see any repudiation of the verses of violence, the verses of Kaffir and Jew hatred which litter your holy book. I don’t see any resignation letters handed in to the keepers of Mosques at the shame of having your “religion of peace” sullied by the recent and on-going violence carried out for all to see in the name of Allah. In fact I see no practical solution at all. I only see a desultory apologia for Sunni Islam, which Blind Freddy can see is the root cause of the problem.

I noticed that he tries to distance Daesh from the Lindt Cafe siege by saying that they didn’t carry out the attack. Strange comment from someone who is happy to blame all manner of external forces for other “crazed gunmen”, but when it comes to a loony with a Daesh flag, then obviously it’s all due to the loony, and not due to any external circumstances or influences.

  5. Waleed Aly Taqiyya deconstructed says:

Re Aly and his distortions and misleading statements (taqiyya & kitman) in his recent IS media article.

If you read Dabiq – the daesh or IS English publication which has a massive following within the Islamic world, it might be instructive in just how ‘pure’ IS is as heterodox Islam.

Putting aside the gore & glorification of jihad and khawjarite ideals : IS or Daesh as it’s also known, make it quite clear in their claim of power of their purity in following Islamic ideology.

Aly will have read this as a Sunni and journalist and revealed that in his reference to ‘the grey zone’ – a mass media headline concept promoted recently by IS that he plagiarised & distorted deliberately.

He is untruthful in at least 3 things.

    1. Saying IS is un-Islamic and weak.
Neither is true, he knows IS is now the 2nd largest military fighting force strike power capability in the region after Israel with over $2 billion of funds. And it’s not weak – it is global with up to 20% support in the Muslim world of 1.5 billion people and active funding by nation states and very wealthy powerful Muslims & others.

    2. He insinuates that the rise of IS is somehow the non Muslims fault and that we must accommodate mild Islam to prevent such radical Islam.
Where has accommodation of ‘mild Islam’ ever prevented the cultivation and development of ‘radical’ or more correctly pure Islam – anywhere and at any time ?
In Dabiq IS outline their goal in plain simple English in how they will eliminate the ‘grey zone’ of moderate Muslims and also via Hiraj or infiltration by 3 steps :
    A. immigration infiltration, overbreeding or forceable overwhelming mass migration.
    B. Forcing accommodation by the non sharia host of ‘mild Islam’ and then active subversion in not following their covenant in respecting the hosts legal or moral values.
    C. Once having gained critical mass & power – to actively convert that power in acts of violence and disorder to demand and implement pure sharia or what we falsely think is ‘radical’ Islam.

None of this is said with any bias to Islam, the Muslims tell you this openly and its all publicly available in their Quran as the instructions.

    3. The third deceit by Aly was to state that there is a path for Muslims to somehow create a mild benign ‘tolerant peaceful Islam’.
The Quran and sharia is quite explicit this is only acceptable in stage B as taqiyya (falsehood & deceit) in the infiltration and subversion phase, until power can be taken, then sharia declared.

Any Muslim who ‘sells out’ Islam by not devoting themselves to this goal of global sharia and elimination of all other beliefs is judged by the Quran and Islam to be a NON Muslim and an ENEMY of Islam.

So NO Muslim can be moderate in their true belief or the end game. They can only pretend to be as a transitory tactic or taqiyya to gain power, until C or submission & control is achieved to have full sharia.

Again that is their Islamic rules, no bias, just the facts as any Muslim can tell you are their guidance and publicly explicit in their Quran.
The IS code of instruction is to achieve sharia in a caliphate.
That is what the end goal of Islam looks like.
Mass violence & war, rape, genocide, terror, racial & gender discrimination, non equal rights, slavery.

And the total intolerance of any other political, ideological or religious belief except Islam.

Accommodation & moderation of Islam by a Muslim to co-exist with other beliefs can only be transient and deceitful. It is not what the Islamic ideology demands or allows the Muslim to have as their true belief or the end result.

    Aly knows all this.
Every Muslim who has read the Quran and understood what is being asked of them by Islam knows this.

IS is not alone in demanding this, whether the Muslim is a Sunni, Shia or other variants, these ideological beliefs and expectations are Quranic and common to ALL Muslim sects or variants of Islam.

So Aly’s statements and propositions are misleading – and deliberately so.
