Not my words, but the words of the latest Islamic State magazine, Dabiq.
What kind of filthy Islamophobes are running Islamic State and publishing this kind of hate-filled rhetoric?
Why are they ignoring those learned scholars of Islam, Messrs Obama, Kerry, Cameron (and Abbott) when they say over and over again that Islam is a Religion of Peace™?
Where is Waleed Aly and all the other lefty apologists for Islam to condemn this bigotry and anti-Muslim bile? Can we expect protests around the globe from Muslims against this shocking misrepresentation of the peaceful and beautiful religion of Islam?
No, we can expect none of the above. Since those things only happen when Westerners say it, in particular, Westerners who, rather than just accept the meaningless drivel churned out by the ignorant journalists at the ABC and Fairfax, have taken the trouble to research for themselves what Islam is really about.
But when those people say that Islam is not a religion of peace because the Qur’an says so, and that the ideology requires Muslims to wage jihad against the unbelievers, they are smeared and ridiculed, and labelled racists, Islamophobes, bigots, hate-mongers etc etc. Hypocrisy on a grand scale.
The article is chock full of footnoted references to Islamic texts justifying Islamic State’s interpretation of violence and supremacy. Let’s see the Grand Mufti argue against this kind of scholarly research. All bracketed comments are in the original except those marked *, which are mine.
There is a slogan repeated continuously by apologetic “du’āt” [*proselytisers for Islam] when flirting with the West and that is their statement: “Islam is the religion of peace,” and they mean pacifism by the word peace. They have repeated this slogan so much to the extent that some of them alleged that Islam calls to permanent peace with kufr [*unbelievers] and the kāfirīn [*nation of unbelievers]. How far is their claim from the truth, for Allah has revealed Islam to be the religion of the sword, and the evidence for this is so profuse that only a zindīq (heretic) would argue otherwise.
His Messenger (sallallāhu ‘alayhi wa sallam) also described the sword as the salvation from evil and fitnah. He (sallallāhu ‘alayhi wa sallam) also described the sword as being the key to Jannah [Reported by Ibn Abī Shaybah on the authority of Abū Mūsā].
He also declared that his worldly provision was placed for him in the shade of his spear and that the best livelihood for the Muslim in the future is what he takes with his sword from the kāfir enemy.
The article also shows that the IS operatives are annoyed that their message – that Islam is a religion of the sword – isn’t getting through to Western leaders:
So how can the zanādiqah (heretics) or even those who blindly follow them – Bush4 , Obama, and Kerry – obstinately claim that “Islam is a religion of peace,” meaning pacifism?
[Footnote 4 reads: Bush (the son) said, “The face of terror is not the true faith of Islam. That’s not what Islam is all about. Islam is peace. These terrorists don’t represent peace. They represent evil and war.” Obama and Kerry later mimicked Bush and stated that the Islamic State was “un-Islamic” because of its usage of violence. The origin for this isnād (chain of transmission) of falsehood is prob- ably one of the apostate “religious advisors” who visit the White House and claim to represent Islam and the Muslims while clapping in support of the American declarations of war against Islam. May Allah expose the hypocrites and heretics.]
It is clear then that salām (peace) is not the basis of the word Islam, although it shares the same consonant root (s-l-m) and is one of the outcomes of the religion’s sword, as the sword will continue to be drawn, raised, and swung until ‘Īsā (Jesus – ‘alayhis-salām) kills the Dajjāl (the Antichrist) and abolishes the jizyah [*tax paid by Jews and Christians living in Muslim lands]. Thereafter, kufr and its tyranny will be destroyed; Islam and its justice will prevail on the entire Earth.
The point being that until the last infidel is destroyed, Islam will continue to “draw, raise and swing” the sword. It really doesn’t get much clearer than that.
They already hate us, so acknowledging that Islam is a religion of violence justified by the Islamic texts is hardly going to make any difference to them, but it may make a huge difference to how we deal with it.
