Muslim ‘academics’ misrepresent Islam for the infidels

“Islamic State has nothing to do with Islam. Go back to sleep, infidel!

UPDATE: invites selected academics to rebut Islamic State myths. Let’s see how they go, shall we?

Soon, by Allah’s permission, a day will come when the Muslim will walk everywhere as a master, having honour, being revered, with his head raised high and his dignity preserved. Anyone who dares to offend him will be disciplined, and any hand that reaches out to harm him will be cut off. — From ISIS magazine Dabiq.

“There is this assumption that Islam will arise again in Muslim societies and the world generally,” says Dr Jan Ali, Sociologist of Islam at the University of Western Sydney.

“We know from history that Islam (once) ruled and was the prominent system (which then) declined. ISIS are using that idea to say, now is the time. In resistance to this whole idea, empires rise and fall.

“There’s that in Christian teaching too, Jesus Christ will rise again, so it’s not unique to Islam”.

Of course! It’s just the same as Christianity! How could I have been so stupid? Those extremist Methodists are well known for attempting to spread Christianity to the Muslim world with amputations and beheadings! FAIL. 0/1. Next:

“Any attempt by you, Obama, to deny the Muslims their rights of living in safety under the Islamic caliphate will result in the bloodshed of your people.” — James Foley’s video executioner.

Telling porkies again?

Raihan Ismail: Telling porkies again?

“Islam encourages defensive Jihad only — when you are being attacked and in a situation of war, you are obligated to protect your country and family,” says Dr Raihan Ismail, Associate Lecturer in Arabic and Islamic studies.

Sounds all very nice and fluffy, but in reality that’s only one up from the ludicrous “jihad is just peaceful inner struggle”. Unfortunately, however, Muslims must fight against unbelievers “until God alone is worshipped.” Unbelief itself is viewed as aggression. Surely you haven’t forgotten Qur’an 9:29, have you?

Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.

“YODO — You only die once. Why not make it martyrdom?” — An ISIS supporter on Instagram

“There is an Arabic term, shahid, or martyr,” says Dr Ali. “But the activities that lead to that martyrdom are not necessarily about killing, it could be from saving your family from a fire.

“In the West, we think this is noble too. It’s about saying, ‘I have to save my grandmother, I don’t care if I die trying’, rather than the other way round, setting out to die and not caring whether your grandmother lives or not.’”

Dr Ismail adds: “In Islam suicide is forbidden, so suicide bombing is frowned upon.”

Seriously? Do you think we were born yesterday? Saving your granny from a burning house is ‘just the same’ as a suicide attack on infidels? Seriously? Seriously?!!

Everyone knows that by dying for the sake of Allah you will go to paradise where you can enjoy your 72 virgins for all eternity. You don’t get that for saving granny. No wonder suicide bombing is only ‘frowned upon’, and if you do it you’re a very naughty boy.

The Islamic State — on account of what Allah has blessed it with of victory, consolidation and establishing the religion — is regarded as an unquestionable imamah (doctrine of religious, spiritual and political leadership). As such, anyone who rebels against its authority inside its territory is considered a renegade, and it is permissible to fight him after establishing the hujjah against him (i.e. clarifying his error to him with proof). — From ISIS magazine Dabiq

“The idea of forcing people to convert is un-Islamic,” says Dr Ismail. “The prophets allowed Jews and Christians to live in peace.

“Islamic verses say, ‘There’s no compulsion in religion.’ It encourages conversion, but in a peaceful manner, by talking and preaching. If someone wanted to convert to, say, Christianity, scholars would say you can try to start a dialogue with them, but they must be allowed to do so.”

This answer is an OUTRIGHT LIE.

It is a basic tenet of Islam that Muslims are commanded to convert until the whole world is Islamic, and to pretend otherwise is utterly contemptible from an academic. There three options were convert, die or (if you were ‘lucky’ enough to be a Jew or a Christian) grudgingly permitted to remain in Muslim lands as third class citizens in a state of miserable dhimmitude, a right that could be revoked at any time by their Muslim rulers. I would hardly call that ‘living in peace’.

As for conversion out of Islam, it is well known amongst scholars (and I thought Dr Ismail was supposed to be one) that the punishment for apostasy is death. Qur’an 4:89:

“They wish you would disbelieve as they disbelieved so you would be alike. So do not take from among them allies until they emigrate for the cause of Allah . But if they turn away, then seize them and kill them wherever you find them and take not from among them any ally or helper.”

Seriously, you must think we can’t read! FAIL. 0/4. The last example is so full of bluster and obfuscation that I’m not even going to repeat it.

Until such academics address the problems posed by organisation like Islamic State truthfully and openly, instead of trying to pull the wool over our Western kafir eyes, we must continue to be very, very suspicious.

  1. Simon Colwell says:

Does it really surprise you that these academics are lying ? Doesn’t it say somewhere in the koran that they must lie to infidels to conceal their true intentions ?
